Conversation between Manisha Roy and Oxford Richard on
their convocation day of Cambridge University.....
Oxford: Hey, what a speech that was!
Manisha: Thanks.
Oxford: So, what’s the next plan? Wanna go back to your country?
Manisha: No, not now.
Oxford: Why? I don’t think your parents will allow that.
Last week after your conversation with them, you told me that they are forcing
you to go back.
Manisha: Ya, I know. But I have to settle here for some
while.
Oxford: Here? In England?
Manisha: Yes.
Oxford: But why? When I met you, you are the one who told
me that you wanna do something for your country, so that you will leave England
just after the convocation happens.
Manisha: Yes I remember. Still I have that on my mind. But
though I have to settle down here. Just because of some reason.
Oxford: May I know, what’s that?
Manisha: You can’t share this to anyone.
Oxford: Ok.
Manisha: My wedding date is fixed. This is why my parents
are forcing me to come back.
Oxford: Wait, what? Seriously?
Manisha: Yes.
Oxford: When it is?
Manisha: 6 months later.
Oxford: This is the reason you don’t wanna return?
Manisha: Absolutely.
Oxford: Why they are forcing their decision on you? I mean
that’s your decision.
Manisha: There is no decision of a woman about her life
exists in a country like Bangladesh. Before marriage all sort of decision is
taken by the Parents and after marriage all this stuff like decision is taken
by the husband. After the husband expires the decision is dropped out to the
children.
Oxford: My God!
Manisha: What do you think my degree from Cambridge really do
vary there? After marriage the husband is gonna say, why do you wanna earn
money, that’s my job, your job is to do household stuffs.
And I am not born to here such stupid things, at all. I wanna do something by my own, I wanna fulfill all of my dream by myself. I wanna give my Mom world class arthritis treatment from the best Orthopedic doctor, I wanna buy my Dad that RMG Industry from which he was thrown out. I wanna travel the full world with the peace in my mind. If I go back now nothing will happen except the destruction of my dream as always.
Oxford: That's what I like about you. But, where you gonna stay right now, your accommodation
is not any more exists in the hostels...... and do you have any job?
Manisha: Let see what to do. I have seen a lot of lodging
ads on newspaper. Today I am gonna visit some. I have sent some resume to many
Law firms all over the country.
Oxford: If you don’t mind, you can stay in one of our guest
house near lake district until you find any job?
Manisha: Wow that will be great. But one condition!
Oxford: And what is that?
Manisha: You have to take the expense of each day I stays.
Oxford: Oh Come on. This is ridiculous. You are my best
friend, how can I allow that?
Manisha: Then I have to think about those ads.
Oxford: Ok ok, Miss Stubborn Roy.
Manisha: Thanks a lot.
Oxford: Hey, send me your resume, I am gonna show that to
my Dad.
Manisha: For what?
Oxford: I told you once that my Dad has a Law firm and he needs
a young and tough Barrister. You must try for that. You are young and the
toughest girl I have ever seen.....
Manisha: Ok I’ll email you. Anyways, bye for today. Take
care.
